Ethical Standard


 

Journal of Experimental Mechanics requires authors to adhere to research integrity and the ethical standard below.

Multiple submission and plagiarism are prohibited. Results from the same research cannot be published redundantly or separately. Authors should guarantee the accuracy and authenticity of data. The journal conducts two rounds of repetition detection: upon submission and before publishing, using the CNKI system. All listed authors must ensure that they have read the content of the article and agree to submit it to Journal of Experimental Mechanics. Those who are named as authors should have directly participated in the research work, drafting the manuscript or plays a significant guiding role. Other contributors of the article may be listed in acknowledgement. “Gift authorship” is strictly prohibited. The order of authors should be determined before submission and cannot be changed thereafter in principle. Authors should specify their contribution in Authors Statement Form and submit it to the editorial office. All authors must disclose all potential conflicts of interest if the financing/personal status/affiliation of the authors (or the authors' organization/employer) may affect authors' decision, work or manuscript. When mentioning a product, authors should also disclose any conflict of interest against competitive products. Authors should report potential conflicts of interest related to the study in Authors Statement Form and submit it to the editorial office. When there is no competing interest, it should also be stated that “there is no conflict of interest”. Once it is found that the article is involved in plagiarism, multiple submission, falsification of data, or infringement of others’ rights and interests, the author may face penalties The journal shall publish the author's affiliation and name, retract the article, and refuse to publish any article written by the author in the future. The case shall be reported to other scientific journals in the field.

Reviewers should adhere to academic ethics, and avoid biased review. It is prohibited to interfere with the review process, breach confidentiality or misappropriate manuscript content for illegitimate interests. If there is any competing interest, they should report it to the editorial office and avoid handling the manuscript. Editorial board members and editors should adhere to academic ethics and process all manuscript indifferently. Authors’ right and reviewer’s opinion should be respected. It is prohibited to interfere with the review process, breach confidentiality or misappropriate manuscript content for illegitimate interests. If there is any competing interest, they should disclose it and avoid handling the manuscript. Authors, reviewers and editors must uphold high standards of publishing ethics during submission, reviewing and editing. Penalty shall be imposed should any misconduct be verified. The journal shall strictly comply with professional and ethical standards, focusing on the quality of manuscripts, treat authors equally regardless of their background, titles and institutes, and avoid personal relationship interfering the reviewing process.
